As an Environmental Specialist at ACV Enviro you'll receive:
Practical experience with EPA's Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), OSHA standards, and DOT regulations Industry-specific training's, licenses, and certifications Competitive salary Generous PTO, medical/dental/life insurance, and retirement benefits Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform a variety of tasks at customer sites relating to lab safety, environmental compliance, and hazardous material/waste management.
Tasks include:
Unpack labpacks and process waste for the most economical means of disposal- either by pouring off or repacking.
Handling, classifying, segregating, labeling, and packaging (LAB PACKING) hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to Federal and State regulations.
Training laboratory/production staff to understand proper chemical handling/storage techniques and relevant environmental laws.
Preparing shipping documents and coordinating transportation of chemical products and hazardous waste materials to and from customer sites.
Performing consolidation of hazardous materials/waste (i.
e.
bulking, repackaging).
Ensure that waste is accurately tracked from drum to drum and from plant to destination.
Providing expert knowledge on government regulations, health and safety practices, and proper disposal methods to customers.
Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications 4-year BA/BS degree REQUIRED.
Major in Environmental Science, Chemistry PREFERRED.
Must be willing and able to pass a pre-employment physical w/ drug screen.
Must have a clean driving record for the past 2 years.
Must be willing and able to wear and properly use all levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) including air-purifying respirators.
